Little Toes Brand Story
How it all Began
A scientist. A clinical psychologist. A mother. A trailblazer who saw what the market was missing — and spent years refusing to stop until she built something worthy of the babies it was made for.
A Scientist Who Studied
What People Truly Need.
Before Little Toes® was a brand, before it was a company, before a single patent was filed — Dr. Sharon Fried Buchalter, Ph.D. was already deep in the work of understanding people. Not just as a clinician, but as a scientist and researcher who worked for major consumer product companies, studying what people genuinely want, what matters most to them, and what unmet needs the market was failing to address.
What she heard, consistently and clearly, was this: parents wanted products that were truly natural. Truly safe for their babies. And truly responsible toward the earth those babies would inherit. At the time, those products barely existed. The marketplace was full of brands that used the language of nature while quietly filling their formulations with chemicals. Dr. Sharon saw the gap — not as a business opportunity, but as a problem that needed solving with scientific rigor and genuine integrity.
She was a trailblazer at the intersection of two worlds most brands never think to connect: the deep scientific knowledge of what consumers need and what their bodies react to, and the equally deep human knowledge of what families actually experience behind closed doors.
"I was a scientist who studied what people want. And what they wanted was something the market simply wasn't giving them — purity they could trust and a product that honored the earth."

Then She Heard It
Behind Closed Doors —
and Lived It at Home.
Alongside her consumer research career, Dr. Sharon built a clinical practice as a Licensed Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist, and parent coach. And what she heard in those sessions — from mothers, fathers, and couples navigating the beautiful overwhelm of new parenthood — confirmed everything her research had already told her. Parents were exhausted, anxious, and making critical decisions about their babies' wellbeing with inadequate information and inadequate products.
Then there was the most personal layer of all. As the mother of two, Dr. Sharon did not observe this problem from any professional distance. She lived the sleepless nights when her own children suffered from severe diaper rash — the heartache a mother carries when she cannot protect her child from something as preventable as chemical exposure in the one product she puts on them thousands of times a year. Chlorine. Synthetic fragrances. Latex. Dioxins. Phthalates. Ingredients that had no place against newborn skin, found in nearly every conventional diaper — and in many that called themselves natural.
The combination of her scientific background, her clinical insight, and her personal experience as a mother gave Dr. Sharon something rare: the knowledge of what needed to change, the scientific tools to change it properly, and the personal fire to refuse to stop until it was done right.
"My children were the original reason. Every parent I listened to in my practice kept the fire burning. And my scientific training made sure I could actually solve it."
Years of Research.
One Uncompromising Standard.
In 2013, Dr. Sharon founded Products on the Go® LLC — the parent company that would bring her vision to life. From day one, the mandate was clear: no product would reach a parent's hands until it was genuinely the best available. That meant years of research and development. Formulations created, tested, independently evaluated, and often reformulated entirely. Manufacturing partners selected only if they met her certification and quality requirements. Every component scrutinized not just for what it was, but for what it contained, how it was sourced, and what it would ultimately become in a landfill.
What emerged in 2018 was Little Toes® — not a diaper brand, but a complete, patented natural diapering system unlike anything the natural baby care industry had seen. A bamboo diaper system protected by U.S. utility patent. A natural bamboo wipe formulation protected by U.S. utility patent. Swim diapers with design patents across the United States, European Union, Canada, and Australia. Thirteen certifications from the world's most respected independent bodies. All of it integrated into a single, purposeful whole.
The commitment did not end at launch. Dr. Sharon continues to evaluate every new advancement in materials science, bamboo technology, and sustainable manufacturing — never settling for what was best yesterday when something better exists today. The result is a diapering system that is always evolving toward a higher standard of purity, performance, and care for the planet.
Her two iParent Award-winning books — Children Are People Too and New Parents Are People Too — stand as the intellectual and emotional companion to everything Little Toes represents. Written from her clinical practice and her coaching philosophy, they give parents the tools to become confident coaches in their child's life — guiding development through a pyramid of success built on connection, communication, and intentional parenting. They are not simply books about babies. They are the foundation of a philosophy.
"There were faster paths. There were cheaper paths. I chose neither. And I never will. Your baby — and the earth they'll grow up in — deserve nothing less than the best we are capable of."
